Remove the nut (Item 1) [Figure 20-40-99] from both solenoids.
Installation: Tighten the nut to 48 – 72 in.-lb. (5 – 8 Nโขm) torque.
Remove the nut (Item 1) and solenoid coil (Item 2) [Figure 20-40-100].
Use an Ohm meter to measure the solenoid coil resistance.
The correct resistance for the coil is 4.9 ยฑ 0.25 ohm.
Remove the solenoid stem (Item 1) [Figure 20-40-101].
Installation: Tighten the stem to 10 – 14 ft.-lb. (14 – 19 Nโขm) torque.
Remove the O-rings (Item 1) [Figure 20-40-102] from the solenoid stem.
Check and clean the screen (Item 2) [Figure 20-40-102].
