The battery cables must be clean and the connections tight. Remove acid or corrosion from the battery and cables with a sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and water solution [Figure 60-20-5].
Clean the terminals and cable ends as shown in figure [Figure 60-20-3] and [Figure 60-20-4].
Check the electrolyte level in the battery. Add distilled water as needed.
Put battery saver P/N (6664458) or grease on the battery terminals and cable ends to prevent corrosion.
