Raise the lift arms 6 feet (2 m) off the ground. Stop the engine. Turn the Lift Arm Bypass Control Knob (Item 1) [Figure 20-50-1] Clockwise 1/4 turn. Then pull out and hold the Lift Arm Bypass Control Knob until the lift arms slowly lower.
The knob should return to its initial position.
