BobCat 753 – HYDROSTATIC MOTOR – Removal And Installation

Raise the lift arms and install an approved lift arm support device. (See Installing Lift Arm Support Device
on Page 10-20-1.)

Lift and block the loader. (See LIFTING AND BLOCKING THE LOADER on Page 10-10-1.)

Raise the operator cab. (See Raising The Operator Cab on Page 10-30-1.)

Remove the front and rear wheel/tire assemblies. (See TIRE MAINTENANCE on Page 10-170-1.)

Remove the four motor cover mounting bolts (Item 1) [Figure 30-20-1].

Installation: Tighten the drive motor mounting bolts to 25-28 ft.-lbs. (34-38 Nm) torque.

Mark the two hoses (Item 1) [Figure 30-20-2] before disconnecting them from the HYDROSTATIC MOTOR for correct installation.

Remove the two hoses (Item 1) [Figure 30-20-2] from the drive motor.

Remove the drain hose (Item 2) [Figure 30-20-2] from the drive motor.

Remove the four drive motor mounting bolts (Item 3) [Figure 30-20-2].

Installation: Tighten the drive motor mounting bolts to 90-100 ft.-lbs. (122-136 Nm) torque.

Remove the drive motor from the access hole in the loader frame [Figure 30-20-3].

NOTE: If your loader has a spacer washer (Item 1) [Figure 30-20-4], it must be re-installed if:
1. You are replacing only the drive motor.
The spacer washer must be discarded if:
1. You are replacing the entire motor carrier assembly.
2. You are replacing the carrier shaft and keeping the carrier housing.

Carriers that need the spacer washer (Item 1) [Figure 30-20-4] are marked with “RH” (Item 1) [Figure 30-20-5]
stamped on the face.

If the carrier shaft is replaced and the same carrier housing is re-used, stamp over the ”RH” with an “XX”.

NOTE: Eliminating the washer when it is required will result in drive motor failure at very low hours.
Attempting to install a washer when it is not required will result in interference. The motor will not seat                        against the carrier and damage will result if tightened.

*Refer to Bobcat Technical Informational Bulletin #345 for more information on the spacer washer if needed.

Reverse the removal procedure to install the HYDROSTATIC MOTOR.
